We kicked off our Easter festivities this year by hiding the little boys' baskets around the house.
The Veggie Tales DVDs, Easter books, and peeps were met with much enthusiasm.
Then we piled in the car in spite of questionable weather and drove down the Seward Highway for our traditional Easter Quicknic with Gramnea and Papa Wes.
The boys and I made Jello pretzel salad, deviled eggs with homemade mayo, and bagel sandwiches with homemade cream cheese for our feast. Gramnea made yummy macaroni salad and brought fresh pineapple and grapes.
It rained and snowed during our quicknic but we didn't let that keep us from hiding eggs for the littles to find. I love carrying on these traditions in our family. They give us comfort and strength even when the world around us seems to be changing daily.
It was a great treat to listen to conference during Easter weekend. I loved all the wonderful council given for strengthening our families. There were so many inspiring messages and also quite a few distractions from my wee ones around so between now and the next conference in October I am going to devote one of my morning scripture studies a week to a conference talk. I am going to follow along with Steph at Diaper and Divinty's General Conference Book Club. She posts each Sunday the talk for the week along with her thoughts about it. The comments are a great additional resource for inspiration. Check it, it's fabulous.

Sooo fun and cute! You are a trooper to go out for your quicknic. Brrrr! We were too chicken to even hide the eggs in the backyard! You are amazing. We need to get together soon.
you are a good momma Trachelle- I'm glad you got to spend some time with your momma recently- she's a good momma too
Looks like you all had lots of fun, despite the cold! I love the tradition of hiding baskets, too--I think it's fun even when you're not a little kid anymore! ( :
