Scream or Cry?

Screaming was definitely at the top of my list after getting home from running errands one day this week. My car was full of groceries and little boys. So I pulled into the garage and started unloading the car. It was warm and sunny (well warmer anyway) so I told Zander and Asher they could play outside while I emptied the car. Tiernan was stuck in his car-seat for the duration of the unloading, not fair I know, but despite popular belief I've only got two hands. If there's one thing I've learned from John it's how to take all the groceries down to our apartment at once.

He's got it down to an art, which generally includes him banging on the front door with one foot with 5-7 plastic grocery bags running the length of each arm. Talented isn't he? I knew when I married him that he wasn't just another pretty face. Heh, Heh! So I loaded myself down and made my way to the front door. Now we live in a basement apartment with access to our apartment through the inside of the main house or through our front door by way of an icy trek outside. Basically it's a toss up which entrance is more convenient (neither really), so I chose to go outside hoping to get my daily dose of vitamin D on my way. I unloaded my loot then headed back to the garage to save my
screaming baby from his big bad car-seat.

Traumatic, I know. Much to my dismay I realize that the car is locked (Tiernan is still inside) and my keys are with the rest of my loot on my kitchen table. I run back down Super-Mom-Style, get the keys and save Tiernan just in time. Meanwhile Asher has done the opposite of what I asked him to do and gone down to our apartment through the inside entrance. Thankfully Zander was still playing happily in the driveway so the three of us headed down to our apartment through the inside, with me efficiently closing the garage door as we leave. Upon reaching the inside door, I find that my 2 year-old has locked our inside door with all of is, including himself, on the wrong side. Ok this is where I want to scream, I mostly hold it back, but an anguished little shriek did escape. then I remember that the outside door is still open.

Thank-goodness, or I might have really had to scream. Anyway, I ran babe-in-arms up to the garage then back down to our front door. It was still unlocked (Asher hadn't made it that far I guess). I did debate, only for a second mind you, about unlocking the inside door but my maternal instinct won the debate and I opened the door to find two happily smiling boys looking up at me. On the bright side, I worked off that cookie I had for lunch with all that running, right? Right.

Ha ha, I really laughed when you said John wasn't just a pretty face! Umm, I would have given up and called Derick and told him to come home as soon as possible!

Boy, you have great stories-hahaha! It is so great that you have 2 ways to get into your home....and that you didn't lock the keys in the car!! Yikes! I'm like your husband- I HATE to make more than one trip to the car for bags. I'll carry my weight in groceries before I'll admit defeat and make a second trip-hahaha!

I think I probably would have screamed then cried, or at least whimpered! I had the wonderful luxury today of going to the grocery store by myself!! No strapping Kirsten in and out, or lugging groceries and a baby. It was very nice!
By the way, I used the Minima template and then changed the HTML code a little. I added my own background and banner, and got rid of some outlines and things like that.
